Happy Feet

Happy Feet is an Academy Award-winning Australian-produced 2006 computer-animated comedy-drama musical film, directed and co-written by George Miller. It was released in North America on November 17, 2006 and produced at Sydney-based visual effects and animation studio Animal Logic for Warner Bros. and Village Roadshow Pictures. It is the first animated feature film produced by Kennedy Miller in association with Animal Logic. Though primarily an animated film, it does incorporate live action humans in certain scenes. The film was simultaneously released in both conventional theatres and in IMAX 2D format.The studio has hinted that a future IMAX 3D release was still a possibility.Happy Feet won the Academy Award for Best Animated Feature after failing to win the Annie Award for Best Animated Feature.

The film was dedicated in memory of Nick Enright, Michael Jonson, Robby McNeilly Green, and Steve Irwin.

Woody Woodpecker

Woody Woodpecker is an animated cartoon character, an anthropomorphic woodpecker who appeared in theatrical short films produced by the Walter Lantz animation studio and distributed by Universal Pictures. Though not the first of the "screwball" characters that became popular in the 1940s, Woody is perhaps the most indicative of the type.

Woody was created in 1940 by storyboard artist Ben "Bugs" Hardaway, who had previously laid the groundwork for two other "screwball" characters, Bugs Bunny and Daffy Duck, at the Schlesinger/Warner Bros. studio in the late 1930s. Woody's character and design would evolve over the years, from an insane bird with an unusually garish design to a more refined looking and acting character in the vein of the later Chuck Jones version of Bugs Bunny. Woody was originally voiced by Mel Blanc, the voice actor who voiced Bugs Bunny and most of the other Looney Tunes/Merrie Melodies characters. Blanc was succeeded as Woody's voice by Ben Hardaway and later by Grace Stafford, wife of Walter Lantz.

Walter Lantz produced theatrical cartoons longer than most of his contemporaries, and Woody Woodpecker remained a staple of Universal's release schedule until 1972, when Lantz finally closed down his studio. The character has only been revived since then for special productions and occasions, save for one new Saturday morning cartoon, The New Woody Woodpecker Show, for the Fox Network in the late 1990s/early 2000s.

Woody Woodpecker cartoons were first broadcast on television in 1957 under the title The Woody Woodpecker Show, which featured Lantz cartoons bookended by new footage of Woody and live-action footage of Lantz. Though less popular today, a repackaged version of The Woody Woodpecker Show is still frequently seen in television syndication. Woody has a motion picture star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame on 7000 Hollywood Blvd. He also made a cameo alongside many other famous cartoon characters in the 1988 film Who Framed Roger Rabbit.

Digital Monster X-Evolution

Digital Monster X-Evolution is the 8th Digimon movie, and the first to air on Japanese television rather than being in Japanese theaters first.
Digital Monster X-Evolution is also the first and, so far, only Digimon movie to be done entirely in CG, as well as the only Digimon movie not related to one of the Digimon anime series. It is frequently referred to among fans by the commonplace portmanteau, "Digimon X-Evolution".

Story

The Digital World is becoming so overpopulated that the super computer (Yggdrasil) that governs the Digital World can't handle it anymore. His solution? Wipe out the vast majority of the Digimon with the X Virus. He chooses a very small percentage to be moved to a new Digital World because he plans to destroy the old Digital World. Those who were not chosen but survived anyway and moved to the new world had a rare gift known as the X-Antibody, this antibody when activated changed their appearance and made them more powerful. Those who have the X-Antibody are generally distinguished by the X in their name and sometimes an X placed on their body somewhere (for example Tokomon's X on the forehead). There are few with the X-Antibody that are not distinguished by an X after their name but this is because there is no other version of them in existence that doesn't have the X-Antibody so there is no need to distinguish the normal and X-Antibody apart with the X surname. Yggdrasil is protected by the Royal Knights, incuding Omnimon, Gallantmon and Magnamon, who eliminate X-Antibody Digimon.

One of the outcasts is a strange dog-like Digimon named Dorumon. Dorumon seems to be rejected by every body, and is attacked by a Leomon who wants his X-Antibody. Leomon eventually dies and asks Dorumon to live for him. WarGreymon X tries to make peace with a group of normal Digimon, but Omnimon shows up and eliminates them all except WarGreymon X and Tokomon who escape. The two crash land at a temple where Dorumon lives. WarGreymon X leaves Tokomon in Dorumon's care and draws omnimons fire. Omnimon fights them later, seriously wounding Tokomon and Dorumon. MetalGarurumon X and WarGreymon X shows up to battle Omnimon. MetalGarurumon X is mortally wounded and dies, giving his X-Antibody to the injured Tokomon. Dorumon digivolves into Dorugamon in response to Omnimons assault. WarGreymon X draws their fire and just before Omnimon attacks Gallantmon intervenes. Gallantmon believes Yggdrasil is eliminating all Digimon, but dies when he is impaled by Omnimon's blade. Magnamon later kidnaps Dorugamon and extracts his DNA.

Dorugamon is left for dead in a junkyard and is taken into hiding by WarGreymon X's troops, including Wizardmon, Mummymon and Silphymon. The forces of Yggdrasil later attack and the Digimon defend themselves, Dorugamon eventually digivolving to his Ultimate Level. Gallantmon X and MetalGarurumon X later return from the dead to help battle. Gallantmon opens the way to Yggdrasil's domain where Omnimon and Magnamon await. Omnimon dismembers Dorumon, who digivolves into Alphamon. Omnimon turns against Yggdrasil and teams up with Dorumon's true form, Alphamon, to restore the Digital World. Yggdrasil is destroyed at the cost of Alphamon's life. He gives his X-Antibody to Omnimon who becomes Omnimon X. Alphamon is de-digivovled to Dorumon, who returns home to find Tokomon waiting for him.

The Wild : Walt Disney Production

The Wild is a computer-animated film directed by Steve "Spaz" Williams, produced by Clint Goldman, assistant produced by John Burton and C.O.R.E. Feature Animation, and was released by Walt Disney Pictures on April 14, 2006 in the US.

The Wild received some harsh responses even before the trailer premiered. Movies.com described it as "Madagascar meets Finding Nemo with The Lion King thrown in for effect."

The movie has many similarities to Madagascar including its setting in New York, similar animals as characters, and the primary plot of introducing zoo animals to the wild. The name of the film and the tag line, "Start spreading the newspaper", a play on the opening line from the "Theme from New York, New York", were both used as integral plot points in Madagascar. The koala's line "Sprechen Sie Koala?" mirrors Madagascar's: "You. quadraped. Sprechen Sie Englisch?" Because of this, some people believe that the movie is a possible plagiarism of Madagascar, a Jack Bauer-meets-Madagascar film. Rotten Tomatoes describes the critics' consensus on The Wild as "With a rehashed plot and unimpressive animation, there's nothing wild about The Wild". The similarities to Finding Nemo are having a young animal being kidnapped somewhere else, and his parent goes out to find him.

There is evidence that The Wild was in production for a decade. The director, Steve Williams, said that he received the script in 2001. His contract with Disney stated that C.O.R.E would animate, and this contract was green-lit in 2003. The Wild has reportedly been in some form of production for a decade, first being called The Big Break, then Wildlife, and finally The Wild. Animators from the film have come forward on internet communities such as IMDb and stated openly that they had been working on The Wild already when they first saw the trailer for Madagascar. Several even believe that Marty's line "I wish I could go to The Wild!" from Madagascar is a direct mocking of their own efforts.

It is the belief of some that Madagascar was rushed into production to "beat" The Wild into theaters. Many supporters of this theory cite their personal opinions on the story and animation quality of Madagascar as being poor. Despite that, Madagascar was more successful financially than The Wild.

This would not be the first time for Disney and Dreamworks that two films with a similar theme were released in close proximity. In the fall of 1998, Dreamworks released its talking bug film "Antz" mere weeks before Disney/Pixar released "A Bug's Life". A similar scheduling occurred in 2000 when Dreamworks released The Road to El Dorado against Disney's The Emperor's New Groove, both set in Central/South America, using similar animation styles. Later on in 2004, Dreamworks released Shark Tale, which had an underwater theme resembling that of Pixar's Finding Nemo (2003), and the new film Ratatouille has a rodent themed world like Flushed Away(although Flushed Away was merely helped by Dreamworks). It has also been suggested that Disney's rebranding of Rapunzel: Unbraided as Rapunzel was due to its original similarity to Shrek's parodying of fairy tale worlds.

Story

After the New York City zoo closes, all the animals play a game of turtle-shelling except five, who are looking for their leader's son Ryan, who has been shipped to Africa. Along the way, they encounter dogs, crocodiles, geese, and chameleons who think they're covert agents. At sea, thanks to Larry, they escape a crash with a cruise ship. In Africa they encounter a wicked wildebeest named Kazar, voiced by William Shatner.

Robotech

Robotech: The Shadow Chronicles (2006)

In 2002,Tommy Yune announced development of a new sequel movie, which was not named until 2004 as Robotech: Shadow Force. The storyline overlaps with and continues from the unresolved ending of the original series. The title of the story-arc was soon changed to Robotech: The Shadow Chronicles. The first trailers with finished animation were shown at Anime Expo and Comic-Con International in 2005. It was not until February 2006, when Kevin McKeever, operations coordinator at Harmony Gold, was able to confirm that the pilot movie had been completed. After a series of delays, FUNimation Entertainment was finally announced as the home video, broadcast, and theatrical distributor at the 2006 Comic-Con International in San Diego. Harmony Gold premiered the movie at various film festivals in 2006, with a limited theatrical run in January 2007, and released the DVD on February 6, 2007. A 2-disc collector's edition was released in November 2007.

Robotech: Shadow Rising (2009)

On July 27, 2007, at their Comic-Con International panel, Harmony Gold and Robotech director Tommy Yune unveiled the second entry of the Shadow Chronicles production, titled Robotech: Shadow Rising. Pre-production has begun, and a projected release date of sometime in 2009 is currently expected.

Ice Age : The Meltdown Story

In the opening scene, Scrat, the saber-toothed squirrel climbs up a glacier side, hoping to take back his acorn. He pulls it out, unknowingly opening a hole in the glacier, which water soon jets out of. With that, Scrat is shot down with the stream. The world of ice is slowly melting.

In the next shot, the creatures of the Ice Age are all shown enjoying themselves on slides and pools made by the melting ice; among them the three protagonists of the first film: Manfred, Sid, and Diego. Sid opens a day camp, where none of the younger creatures take him seriously, nor do Manfred and Diego, which leaves Sid seeking a daring deed for more respect. Soon, the trio discover Fast Tony and Stu, a pair of local con artists claiming that the earth will flood and that the bark and reeds which they sell are needed to snorkel and stay aloft. Manfred dismisses the idea, but is distracted when he sees that Sid will try to high dive from a giant waterfall; as Manfred goes with Diego to the top of the waterfall to save Sid from his act of daredevilry, they see that the global warming caused the ice of the valley to melt, and it is kept from destroying the valley only by the glaciers, which have formed a dam. It is then that a turkey vulture known as the Lone Gunslinger tells the animals that a giant piece of a fallen tree can act as a boat and save them from the floods; all soon set out to find it.

During the time that the masses of animals escape, a glacier which contains two sea reptiles from the Mesozoic era, (Cretaceous and Maelstrom), breaks off. The con-man Stu is an example of these reptiles' hunger as he is soon devoured, leaving behind his shell alone.

Along the way, Manfred grows unhappy when other animals tease him about being the last mammoth alive. Manfred takes his leave for a moment, leaving Diego and Sid alone, unknowingly to be heckled by two opossums named Crash and Eddie. The opossums proceed to torture Sid and Diego, shooting pebbles at them and baiting them to fight in the manner of Whac-A-Mole. Meanwhile, Manfred meets Ellie, a female mammoth who believes she is an opossum and the sister of Crash and Eddie. Sid invites her to tag along with the group to escape the flood, and she brings her brothers, who spare no chance at their pranks.

After a perilous ordeal with Cretaceous and Maelstrom, Sid finds out that Diego is afraid of water. As they walk Ellie plays with her brothers and gets stuck under a log. Manfred lifts it off her and it opens up an area which Ellie recalls from her childhood as the place where she was adopted by her brothers' mother. She finally realises she is a mammoth and starts getting along with Manfred but grows apart from him when he suggests "saving their species". In time, when the situation calls for it, to save them all from falling into a gorge of pointed rocks, they make up. During the night, while all are asleep, Sid is kidnapped by a tribe of mini-sloths (small multi-coloured sloths) who believe Sid to be a god. Sid lights a fire for them, and believes that he has found respect as their deity, but they plan instead to sacrifice him to a volcano. Sid escapes this fate and returns with his herd.

The next morning, Manfred and the others regroup with Sid, who regales them with his experience with none convinced, and they all find out that they had overslept. As they all rush to reach salvation, they find a field of hot geysers, which separate Manfred, Sid, and Diego from Ellie and her brothers. Each group believes in espacing the geysers differently(Namely Manny and Ellie).

When the flood comes, Manfred saves Ellie from drowning as she is caught in a grotto of rocks, while Diego overcomes his fear of water to save Sid. All is about to be ruined when Cretaceous and Maelstrom come about, but due to Manfred's quick thinking, they are finished off by a rock which falls on them. While all this happens, the other animals are taken on a death ride on the "boat" as it floats about, and are off at the mercy of the water currents.

Meanwhile, Scrat climbs up the glacier, and at the top sticks the acorn he has into the ice. This forms a crack in the glacier, which widens into a fissure, diverting the flood and saving the animals. Scrat is then washed away in the raging water.

In the final scene, a herd of mammoths shows up, removing the need for Manfred and Ellie to mate and proving to other animals that mammoths are not extinct; however, love triumphs and they decide to remain together anyway, taking Sid, Diego, and the opossum brothers along. Now they are one big happy family: a sloth, a sabre toothed cat, two opossums and two mammoths.

The epilogue shows Scrat having a near death experience after falling into the fissure he mistakenly opened. He enters a heaven full of acorns, amazed completely. He sees a gigantic acorn, reaches for it and nearly grabs it. Suddenly, he finds himself torn away from heaven (The music stopping abruptly). He wakes up in the arms of Sid the sloth, who had resuscitated him. Taken from his heavenly, giant acorn, Scrat is enraged and proceeds to attack his savior.

Battle B-Daman

Battle B-Daman is an anime and manga series by Eiji Inuki that first aired in January 1997 in Japan, replacing Beyblade in its timeslot. It premiered in the United States on April 2005. Like its predecessor, it is themed around an enhanced version of a children's schoolyard game - whereas Beyblade was based around spinning tops, Battle B-Daman is a dramatized version of marbles.

Story
The show is about Yamato Delgado (Daiwa in the Japanese version), who gets the legendary Cobalt Blade. He and his friends use the sport of B-Daman to fight the Shadow Alliance. This show takes place in the B-DaWorld where it's inhabitants are humans, anthropomorphic animals, and robots. Using the legendary B-Daman, Yamato enters tournament organized by a group (the JBA in the Japanese version and the IBA (International B-Daman Association) in English version) to become the B-DaChampion. However, he also ends up in fights against the Shadow Alliance.

Newest Shrek ; Shrek Goes Fourth

Shrek Goes Fourth is currently in pre-production, aiming for release on May 21, 2010.Tim Sullivan will write the film,and Mike Mitchell is in talks to direct. The principal cast members will all reprise their roles.The plot has yet to be announced, but according to Dreamworks co-founder Jeffrey Katzenberg, "We will come back to understand how Shrek arrived in that swamp. We will reveal his story,"and Cameron Diaz has reportedly asked for the film to have an eco-friendly storyline about a threatened swamp.A deleted scene from Shrek the Third may be used, in which a talking tree explains that Artie is next in line for the Far Far Away throne.It has also been confirmed that Shrek will have a mid-life crisis. On 12 February 2008, Dreamworks co-founder Jeffrey Katzenberg announced that he would like this film to take on a darker theme and will feature Donkey's evil twin as the primary villian. The song "Te o Tsunago" is sung by ayaka and featured on this film.
Shrek Goes Fourth will be released in both 2-D and IMAX 3-D, as DreamWorks Animation is planning on releasing all their films in 3-D starting in 2009.Katzenberg has confirmed, however, that the film's "primary" release will be in 3-D.

Madagascar Story

Alex the lion, Marty the starry-eyed zebra, Melman the hypochondriac giraffe and Gloria the "hip", slightly chubby hippo have a pampered life at the Central Park Zoo in New York City where they show off to the crowds and generally enjoy themselves. But Marty, celebrating his tenth birthday, longs to see the rest of the world and dreams of life in the wild. When he learns that the zoo's penguins are planning to escape he decides to follow suit, and return by morning. He has a vague notion that the wild can be found in Connecticut, so one night he sneaks out of the zoo and sets off on foot for Grand Central Terminal, where he hopes to take the Metro-North Railroad to Connecticut.

When the others find him gone, they head for Grand Central Station via the Subway to try and get him back. Arriving at Grand Central, they scare away most of the passengers (except for one determined old lady who leaves Alex on his toes) and catch Marty. They then manage to wreck the information desk before being shot with tranquilizer darts, along with the penguins and Mason and Phil, two chimpanzees who also escaped. Anti-zoo campaigners use the incident as evidence that animals should not be locked up. Because of this, all the animals soon find themselves in wooden crates aboard a cargo ship to Kenya.

The penguins succeed in taking over the ship and changing its course, following their initial plan of making their way to Antarctica. During the penguins' takeover, the crates containing Alex, Marty, Melman and Gloria fall overboard and they become separated on the ocean. Alex is washed ashore on a tropical beach. All night he is alone, but in the morning finds Melman stuck in his crate. Gloria and Marty soon wash ashore on the beach too. At first Melman assumes they are in San Diego, and Alex is upset that he will be outshone by Shamu, but when they discover a large tribe of lemurs led by King Julien XIII (voiced by Sacha Baron Cohen), they realize they are not in the United States anymore. They are actually in the wild, on the island of Madagascar.

Alex is furious with Marty, blaming him for the group's situation. He divides the island between them and forces Gloria and Melman to help him build a beacon-holding Statue of Liberty lookalike. His plan is to ignite the beacon, making them easy to notice for the boat, which Alex believes is coming to rescue them. However, Melman accidentally sets the whole statue on fire and destroys it. Gloria and Melman then join Marty, and Alex soon decides that he has been a jerk to his friend and joins the others to live on Madagascar.

Meanwhile, the penguins arrive in snowbound, windswept Antarctica and decide that "Well, this sucks..."

Julien hopes that the lemurs' new friends, whom he calls the "New York Giants", will scare away the foosa, enemies of the lemurs who have been preying on them. Despite the protests of his advisor Maurice (who thinks that Alex, as a carnivore, might be dangerous), Julien convinces the lemurs to welcome Marty and the others to their own little corner of paradise.

Unfortunately Alex, who has only ever eaten pre-cut steaks until now, is beginning to regain his natural predatory instincts. After losing control and attacking Marty, he is considered too dangerous to be a friend to his zoomates, or to any of the lemurs. Julien admits that Maurice has some sense in fearing Alex, and banishes the lion to the side of the island dominated by the foosa, just before everyone ends up running for their lives. Alex came to his senses for a time after a knock on the head by a coconut, and made the decision to leave his friends behind rather than do something he'd later regret. Marty, now completely aware of the predatory factor of the wild, is devastated at the realization that this is happening to him.

The penguins soon arrive in the ship. Realizing this may be a way back into New York, Marty goes to find Alex (against Gloria's advice). He ends up deep in foosa territory where he unsuccessfully tries to get Alex to come with him. The foosa eventually attack him, and soon he, Melman, Gloria and the penguins end up fighting for their lives, hopelessly outnumbered by the hungry creatures. Then Alex appears. At first he seems to have completely returned to his hunting instincts and claims Marty as his own prey. But this turns out to be a ruse: Alex has managed to overcome his predatory instincts. Using the foosa's natural fear of him, Alex drives the predators away from lemur territory forever. Needless to say, Julien made it clear that his original plan was a huge success.

Following a celebration dinner, at which Alex's hunger is finally sated by the discovery that he likes fish even better than steak, the friends return to the ship, leaving the penguins behind, and plan a round-the-world cruise, unaware that the ship is out of fuel, thus making this their permanent home.

Avatar: The Last Air Bender
